The Richmond Hill High Schools girls were to take on state soccer power Eagles Landing (12-6) in the second round of the state Class AAA playoffs at Richmond Hill High School Wednesday.

The Lady Wildcats advanced to the second round by virtue of a 10-0 thumping of Troup County on April 29.  Margaret Goolsby led the scoring with three goals and added two assists. Lindsey Vasher had two goals and four assitss for RHHS, which improved to 15-3 and earned a No. 10 ranking in the latest AAA poll.

Lisa Barnes and Marjan Mustafa added two goals each while Tina Shwari chipped in with a goal. Caitlin Uhlig had an assist for Richmond Hill, which will see the level of competition turned up a notch when the match gets under way at 5:30 p.m.

"Our next opponent, Eagle's Landing, is one  of the perennial south Atlanta programs that we look forward to measuring ourselves against each year," said coach Steve Kollman. "They will be physical and well coached. Our girls will need to stay focused for eighty minutes and play their hearts out in order to get back to the state quarterfinals."

The Wildcats second round game against Perry was Tuesday evening, after our deadline.
